Notifications and DSP Digests

Nova Fora uses notifications for work that needs attention and for important status changes. DSP digests group scheduled work into one message or Home summary.

Nova Fora can use these delivery methods:

  • In-app inbox: Always available in Nova Fora.
  • Email: Sent to your saved email address.
  • Text message: Sent to your verified phone number.
  • Browser alert: Shown by a browser that you enrolled.

Turning off email, text messages, or browser alerts does not remove the notification from your in-app inbox.

Required account and security messages cannot be turned off.

Use this procedure to stop optional email without changing your text-message or browser-alert choices.

  1. Open the unsubscribe link in a Nova Fora notification email.
  2. Read the confirmation page.
  3. Select Stop email to stop optional email notifications.
  4. Check that the page shows Optional email stopped.

Opening the link does not change your preferences. An automatic email-link check also leaves them unchanged. The confirmation and result pages use your saved account language: English or Spanish.

After confirmation, text-message and browser-alert choices stay the same, including choices that you have not saved individually. Required security email and the in-app inbox remain available.

If your email app provides its own one-click unsubscribe action, it can stop optional email directly without showing the browser confirmation page.

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Select Notifications.
  3. Review each notification group.
  4. Turn email, text message, or browser alerts on or off for each type.
  5. Select Save Preferences.
  6. Wait for the saved confirmation.

Nova Fora starts with choices that match your job. Action-needed messages are normally on. Routine updates can stay only in the in-app inbox.

These messages include sign-in, account, password, phone, and security events. Important security messages are required.

These messages can include:

  • A Work Order was created, accepted, declined, reassigned, scheduled, or canceled.
  • A quote or repair scope needs a decision.
  • A technician was assigned or cannot complete work.
  • A correction was created, reopened, or escalated.
  • Work was completed.
  • A stale Work Order needs attention.

These messages can include:

  • An inspection was completed or remains incomplete.
  • An inspection found defects.
  • A defect was created, approved, rejected, deferred, or automatically approved.
  • A cost decision is required.
  • An inspection schedule changed or was canceled.
  • The post-inspection report is ready.

These messages are grouped by purpose:

  • Needs your decision: A quote, pickup, report, supplement, or other decision needs action.
  • Repair progress: The repair moved to another stage.
  • Comments on a repair: A person added a comment.
  • Invoices and payments: A payment or invoice changed.
  • Reminders and overdue alerts: An expected action is late.
  • Quotes you did not win: Another quote was selected.

Nova Fora sends a message to the person or shop group that can act. A routine update does not always go to every person in the organization.

These messages can include vehicle transfers, pickup requests, pickup confirmations, vehicle reports, unlisted-vehicle reports, and schedule responses.

These messages can include missing payment information, failed charges, refunds, disputes, payout holds, and payment review.

These messages can include customer comments, repair feedback, and referral decisions.

During account setup, the SMS topic step lets every role select its available topics after phone verification. To change SMS choices later, use the steps below.

  1. Open your profile.
  2. Enter your phone number.
  3. Request a verification code.
  4. Enter the code.
  5. Save the verified number.
  6. Return to Notifications.
  7. Turn on text messages for the notification types that support them.
  8. Save the preferences.

The text-message choice is not available until the phone number is verified.

Browser enrollment applies only to the browser and device that you are using.

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Select Notifications.
  3. Find Alerts on this browser.
  4. Select the enrollment action.
  5. Allow notifications in the browser prompt.
  6. Select the notification types that can use browser alerts.
  7. Save the preferences.

If you block the browser prompt, change the site permission in the browser settings. Then return to Nova Fora and enroll the browser again.

  1. Select the bell icon.
  2. Filter by unread, type, or status when needed.
  3. Select the message.
  4. Read the full message.
  5. Open the related vehicle, repair, inspection, or account.
  6. Confirm that the record still needs action.
  7. Complete the action.
  8. Mark the message as read.
  9. Select Resolve only when no more action is required.

Opening a message is not the same as resolving it.

Another user or another open tab can update the same work. Nova Fora refreshes affected Body Repair views after a lifecycle notification. Refresh the record if the action shown in the message is no longer available.

  1. Select the bell icon at the top of the screen.
  2. Scroll through the notification dialog.
  3. Select a message.
  4. Complete the related task.
  5. Use the back or close control to return to your earlier work.

Keep the notification dialog open until you confirm that the related page loaded.

A Body Repair comment and a system status update are different.

  • A comment notification means that a person wrote a message.
  • A progress notification means that the repair changed stage or status.

To respond to a comment:

  1. Open the notification.
  2. Confirm the Body Repair request and shop thread.
  3. Read the unread comments.
  4. Reply in Repair Comments.
  5. Add up to four useful images when needed.
  6. Return to the request and review the current action.

Each bidding shop has a private thread. DSP users must select the correct shop before they reply.

The Morning Work Summary helps DSP Owners and Managers reconcile work that shops were scheduled to perform.

The summary shows:

  • Scheduled: All repair work included for the service date.
  • Completed: Scheduled work that the shop marked complete.
  • Still Open: Scheduled work that is not complete.
  • Canceled: Scheduled work that was canceled.

Completed rows can show the vehicle, plate, shop, repair-order number, completion time, repaired defects, how long defects were open, and whether the work finished late.

Open rows can show the scheduled time, planned work, shop phone number, and reason information.

  1. Sign in as a DSP Owner or Manager.
  2. Open Home.
  3. Select the Morning Work Summary banner.
  4. Confirm the service date.
  5. Compare the Scheduled, Completed, Still Open, and Canceled totals.
  6. Review completed work and late-completion labels.
  7. Review each item in Still Open.
  8. Select Call Shop when you need an immediate update.
  9. Review canceled work and its reason.
  10. Select Rate Repair when an eligible completed repair needs feedback.
  11. Select Acknowledge and Hide after you finish the review.

Acknowledging the summary hides it for you. It does not complete, cancel, or change a repair.

The summary is an oversight tool. Shops remain responsible for updating their repair work.

  1. Open the morning-summary notification or email.
  2. Select the link to Nova Fora.
  3. Sign in if required.
  4. Wait for the requested service date to load.
  5. Review and acknowledge the summary.

If the summary cannot load, select Try Again. Open Home directly if the link still fails.

Each shop can send its repair summary to DSP Owners and Managers at the time saved for that shop. The send time uses the shop’s organization time zone.

The message summarizes completed, open, and canceled scheduled repairs. It can also show repaired work and items that still need follow-up.

Use the message as a reminder. Use the live Morning Work Summary as the current record.

The Evening Repair Schedule digest prepares the DSP for the next service day.

It can show:

  • Repairs scheduled for today or tomorrow, with the calendar date.
  • Vehicles and shops.
  • Work that is confirmed.
  • Work that still needs confirmation or another response.
  • Pickup or scheduling information when it applies.

To use the digest:

  1. Confirm the service date in the subject and message.
  2. Review repairs that still need confirmation.
  3. Open Nova Fora.
  4. Confirm the vehicle, shop, schedule, keys, and pickup details.
  5. Contact the shop when a schedule is unclear.

The scheduled post-inspection report can identify:

  • Fleet vehicles that were inspected.
  • Fleet vehicles that were not inspected.
  • Critical defects from the latest scheduled inspection date.

Recipients choose email and text delivery in Notification Settings. The report remains available in Nova Fora.

See Reports Guide for the full report procedure.

Authorized administrators set organization delivery times.

  1. Open the DSP or vendor operating settings.
  2. Confirm the organization time zone.
  3. Turn on the required digest or report.
  4. Enter its delivery time.
  5. Save the settings.
  6. Ask a recipient to confirm the matching notification preferences.

Available settings can include:

  • DSP repair summary time.
  • Completed-jobs or Morning Work Summary delivery.
  • Evening repair schedule delivery.
  • Post-inspection report delivery.

Nova Fora requires a delivery time before an administrator can enable a scheduled digest.

The organization controls whether a digest is produced and when it is sent. Each recipient controls the allowed delivery methods.

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Select Notifications.
  3. Find Morning Work Summary, Evening Repair Schedule, or Post-Inspection Report.
  4. Turn on email or text message delivery.
  5. Save the preferences.

The digest can still appear in the in-app inbox when optional external delivery is off.

  1. Check the in-app inbox.
  2. Check your notification preferences.
  3. Confirm your email address or verified phone number.
  4. Check the email junk folder.
  5. Confirm the browser permission for browser alerts.
  6. Ask an administrator to confirm that the digest is enabled and has a delivery time.
  7. Confirm the organization time zone.
  8. Open the live record to continue urgent work.
  9. Contact support if delivery continues to fail.

Do not wait for a message when Home already shows urgent work.

  1. Confirm the service date.
  2. Confirm the selected DSP and shop.
  3. Open the live Morning Work Summary.
  4. Refresh Home.
  5. Open the underlying repair records.
  6. Check whether the shop updated the repair after the digest was sent.
  7. Contact the shop for an open or missing update.

The digest is a point-in-time summary. The live repair record is newer when work changed after delivery.

If your DSP uses Roger, its manager channel receives Roger notifications. The DSP Owner chooses that channel in organization settings; it is separate from your personal email and SMS choices. See Roger and Slack for connection and reporting guidance.
